Brittany: You know when you say that someone is magnetic and you just cannot look away? Well, that is today's guest. I'm so excited to welcome Gisele plah.... Plamodian?
Gisele: It's good.
Brittany: just butchers it. Oh my God. After I just asked you okay,
Gisele: so cute.
Brittany: let me rewind. I am so excited to welcome Gisele Plum. I cannot plamondum?
mon plah Saving me will be here for an hour. Okay, so I'm so excited to welcome Gisele. She is the powerhouse behind the Cosmic Laundry. A space where astrology, human design and energetic mastery collide in the most beautiful, empowering way Gisele in her content is authentic, unique, real, raw and feminine.
And the way Gisele digs into astrology is unlike anyone else. She really excites the inner woman in me who wants to feel hot, rich, [00:01:00] beautiful, and fully expressed. So I wanted to have her on here today because really what woman doesn't wanna feel feminine, powerful, hot and rich.
I am Brittany Lane, your host of the Energize Effect Podcast. I was convinced that success, freedom, and happiness weren't for people like me, that if I wasn't born into wealth or didn't have the right connections, I'd never really make it. But after I had my daughter, I started questioning every single belief that told me I wasn't good enough.
And what I've learned is that the biggest thing that kept me from my dream life was me, my limiting beliefs around my life on autopilot until I broke through them. Now I wake up excited with more opportunities and success than I've ever had, and I want you to feel the same. This podcast is no fluff. No filters, just raw, real conversations about breaking through what's holding you [00:02:00] back so that you can wake up every day with an energized belief that anything is possible.
Let's get into it.
So Gisele, welcome to the show.
Gisele: That was such a gorgeous intro.
You're so kind. Thank I butchered it a few times if, uh, we didn't edit it out. But you are so patient with me, That is so
good. I am so excited to be here. I think we're gonna have a really juicy little chat.
Brittany: Me too. Even just our back and forth like emails, I was just like, when it's right, right.
Yeah, I also love that you're Canadian too.
I know. We find each other.
Gisele: yeah, I love just collaborating and working with fellow Canadian girlies too. So it's an honor and I'm happy to be here.
Brittany: we have so much to dig into. Like we've almost planned for like extra time than normal because I have so many questions to ask you.
But I'd like to start every episode with one thing that you're really proud of yourself for right now
Gisele: [00:03:00] I was thinking about this morning and there's a lot of different things, but I think one of the biggest things right now currently is how I've been able to stay really consistent. So I'm on like a health and fitness journey right now. I discovered I have really low iron. I've been trying to get like everything just stable
and healthy. And so I'm really proud of how much time and energy I've been dedicating into that while also still not like hustling, grinding, doing it in like the typical way that we do when we go into these kinds of things, I've still been able to really juggle other aspects of my life and so I'm proud of that.
'cause I think in my twenties, I'm sure you can resonate with this. Whenever I'd be like, okay, I'm gonna like start a new fitness era. It was like. All consuming so intense, like took
up every second of time in my life, and so this time I wanted to do it a lot gentler and it's been just such a better [00:04:00] experience.
Brittany: I love that. I think that's such a powerful thing. 'cause I know what you totally mean. I think it's all or a hundred or nothing. We think we have to give it like all day, all consuming, but that's actually exhausting. So I love that you're taking this at a. I feel like when you take it at an approach like that's when it's like meaningful and it's something that you can maintain and continue.
Gisele: Yeah, it's sustainable.
Brittany: Yes. Sustainable. That's the word. I love that. I'm so happy to hear that. And it's not always easy, like the health journey.
I feel like it can be a challenging one and the roller coasters. So I just wanna kudos to you 'cause that is an amazing thing. And then one thing that you're currently struggling with or working through?
Gisele: Yeah, I was thinking about this today and I'm like, oh wait, there's nothing I can think of. And I'm like, okay, Gisele. There's gotta be something I think right now. So we're building something called the Academy for, we're gonna like have a full on. Um, university kind of, but not really a university, but a hub where you can learn [00:05:00] astrology and human design and some of these other things that I teach.
And it is by far the biggest like undertaking I have ever had in my life. And it's also requiring a lot of like pre-planning, which is not how I typically operate. I'm like very present and I just do what I feel like doing, and then I mush it all together. And so this is requiring me to develop some of those like CEO skills actually, and those like the higher minded abilities within business. So that's been a bit of a challenge in just like figuring that out. Like, how are we gonna do this? How are we gonna build this? And how are we gonna make it in the way that feels best for us as a business? So
Brittany: I love that. That is so exciting, first of all, and
Gisele: I'm stoked.
Brittany: it's like it's sometimes we take on these new things and it is. Pushing us into expanding and who we're meant to be. I feel like there's layers and we like, you know, take that next step. And it's challenging, but it's like prepping us to have, like you said, those CEO skills.
I'm [00:06:00] so excited for this university.
Gisele: Yeah, it's gonna be really fun. I'm excited too. Once, I'll be very excited once it's all done.
Right now, I'm like looking at my gear and I'm like, okay. No social life, but it's an edge that I'm really excited to explore,
Brittany: Yeah, when you're in the thick of it, it seems like, oh shit, are we, when are we going to be out of this?
Thank you for being so vulnerable because I know that it can be hard and I love to just have that moment. 'cause I think it helps all of us relate that, you see someone on social media, this presence and you think, oh, they have it all figured out.
And I think that just really brings us back to this like ground where we're all human and all struggling.
Gisele: I love that you start your podcast with that.
Brittany: Thank you. I appreciate that. Okay, let's dig in. I'm like so excited I can't even wait.
I think like the first really like to start off is talking about like Moon and rising signs have like really I feel like exploded in the last like five years before that.
Like I have always been into astrology. I'm an Aries and I've always known that and I've [00:07:00] always related. So deeply to Aries, but now that I've heard about Moon and Rising, I'm a rising Taurus and a Moon Taurus. So I'm like, I never heard of that though before, like the past five years. So like why now? Why are we just realizing the importance of these placements just compared to our sun sign?
Gisele: Yeah, so I think there's a few different reasons. Okay. The history of astrology always included. Like old school astrologers always included the entire wheel, okay? So they included your sun, your moon, your rising, your mercury, like all of it. Sometime in the 19 hundreds, they decided to bring horoscopes and astrology into the mainstream in a certain kind of way, and so they would do them for sun sign.
There's like some astrologers that believe that, that there was like a conspiracy around. This was done like very intentionally to disconnect people from their rising sign because your rising sign is where your like soul embodiment comes from and your sun sign, you're a lot [00:08:00] more easy to condition and manipulate when you're in your sun energy in a way because your ego is really driven by that. 'cause. We're more in that egoic energy and we're looking for. Fame or recognition or whatever. I think it's more so that that reflected. Like the zeitgeist, the collective of like where we are and where we have been. We have been in this hyper individualistic, more masculine kind of energy. And so the sun is really important when you're developing your sense of self and individuating. The reason that the moon and rising are coming back into our awareness is because we're getting back into true astrology. You're just doing sun sign astrology, it's like fun. It's like pop astrology. It's like the Cosmo hot girl astrology sometimes, but it's not like real healing. True. Astrology with depth.
And so I think that's wise is because we had this collective spiritual awakening in 2020, right? We had one in 2012 and then one in [00:09:00] 2020. And I think astrology was a really key part of that. So I think it's just showing that as a collective, we're ready. We're ready to be talking about the rising sign and the moon sign and some of these other aspects.
Brittany: Yeah, it seems like we're coming back to this wholeness to ourself. I feel like we like, like you said, disconnected and I feel like we're in an era where we just really wanna know who we really are and we wanna get rid of all of that conditioning and programming. And it's so funny 'cause when I actually heard about this for the first time, I had this like.
Holy shit moment like this is me. I was like, okay, this makes sense 'cause like at a deeper level and I'm like, oh, this is who. Okay, so explain what Rising tells us about us and then what Moon tells about
Gisele: Yeah, I'll even go through all three because I want the sun sign is really important too. It's just not always used in the way that is, what is your sun sign? So your rising moon, Taurus and then sun.[00:10:00]
Brittany: is Aries.
Gisele: Oh, I love, I love that combo. We'll get into why, but, um, okay, the sun is your, it's actually a very spiritual energy in its highest potential.
It is your divine gifts and. The way I like to think of it as like the way that God likes to express through you. So it's where you'll have just natural gifts and natural talents and when you develop those talents, you can really be recognized for them. So duh. In like a capitalistic, patriarchal world, of course we love the sun sign 'cause we're like, I can make money off my sun sign.
The moon reflects our inner world and there's a few pieces here. It reflects early childhood experience.
And then it also reflects how that experience now has created an imprint or a map internally for how safe you feel in the world. And that map becomes. Emotionally, a lens through which you see and perceive everything.
It's why you and I can experience the same thing and have a different emotional reaction to [00:11:00] it, because we have different emotional personalities in a way. So the moon really reflects what you need in order to feel safe and in order to feel it, to feel like you belong. And in a really simple way, it reflects the inner child.
So it's the ways you connect to that aspect of self.
The rising sign. There's different theories and different schools of thought. So astrology has different lineages similar to how maybe something like yoga would, the lineage that makes the most sense to me when they're talking about rising sign is esoteric astrology, and they talk about the rising sign as your soul self,
Brittany: Oh, as the part of you that is eternal in like pop. New age kind of astrology. They often will talk about it as a mask that you wear, but I think it's genuinely your deepest, truest experience and connection to self.
Do you think that's who then we are deeply at a root to our soul? Is that kind of
Gisele: Yes. Yeah, I think so. And I like to think of it as something that [00:12:00] we just embody so naturally, right? We don't have to do anything to be that. And so it's like the final boss of that energy, right? So you are gonna be way more embodied and rooted in Taurus energy once you've accepted this.
There's usually a journey of coming back home to that part of self.
But once you've accepted that, you're gonna be way more rooted in that energy than a Taurus sun would be.
Brittany: I love that. How can we then use all of these? Because I feel like there's like this competition too because like I do identify as an Aries, like I've always been very proud of being an Aries and this like fiery, like confident, like go-getter,
but how do you still embody that? But not and but still then embody now this like part of this true essence of tour.
Without them competing.
Gisele: Yeah. So certain aspects are gonna shine through in certain areas of life. That's what the houses represent.
And so when you're just naturally, and not forcing anything. You'll notice, okay, with friends, I'm this way with my partner, I'm this [00:13:00] way. At work, I'm this way.
And there's a lot of conversation in the health and wellness and spirituality world around authenticity and sometimes I see people who fear that that means that they're not being authentic because they're not the same in every situation.
I think it's about letting these different. Parts of you shine at different times and not worrying so much about being consistent, like letting yourself be a bit of a contradiction, especially when it comes to magnetism, actually, that is something that makes you very, very attractive and magnetic when people are like, these two things should not go together. I think there's also an understanding of some parts of you are gonna be more forward facing and some are gonna be more internal, right? So for you it might be a bit different because your moon and rising are the same so that their, your moon is a little bit more forward facing, but for a lot of people, their moon is something that only their closest people will get to see.
And that's okay.
Brittany: Yeah,
I think I, I like that too because I feel like when you are [00:14:00] around different people and different energies based on like them and what you sense, you are going to react differently. Like if you feel really safe in someone's energy, you're gonna feel more safe to be more authentically yourself. And I.
I like that you said that like it's not that you're not being authentic, it's just that you're being authentic in your power or your feels, and I think that is actually what's authentic is not just being like, oh, I have to be this to everybody. It's more like, okay, I'm ebbing and flowing with other people's energy, and I think that to me is what makes someone authentic.
Instead of just, I think he's like, yeah, I have to be this, I have to be this and that. And that's what we've been so conditioned to be. So I love that. I think that's a really cool way to look at it.
And we kind of talked about this a little bit earlier about authenticity, but how does that relate with our rising and our sun and our moon like being super magnetic in, our signs and allowing [00:15:00] that.
Gisele: Yeah, I think there's often a lot of. Like shadow work, actually that has to be done when you start working with your chart. Because there's your shadow. Shadow, which we all know of the parts of these things that we maybe don't like or accept or want to be like. I hear this all the time. People will be like, oh, I don't wanna be a capman rising.
I don't wanna be, when I'm
like, girl, we gotta, we gotta work through this. You've gotta learn to integrate these back into your psyche, right? But then there's also the golden shadow, right? And the golden shadow are. Those qualities and traits that we admire in others that we don't think we are.
And usually those are repressed aspects of self. And so it's not this thing where you can just get a reading, know what your stuff is, and then boom, I'm magnetic. Like my journey of really coming into my. Like full true self. And I feel like I'm still always uncovering these new layers has taken me a lot of time.
Like I've been doing this work for at least seven, [00:16:00] eight years and in human design we believe it takes seven years to decondition, right? So it's, it's a journey and you've gotta be committed to it. But I would say the more you can accept and understand and love. Those placements, all placements in your chart and find a reason to love them.
Even when you don't understand them. It'll make it easier to embody them and to be with them.
Brittany: Yeah. I love that you said something about like how when we admire something in someone else, that's a repressed part of us. Can you explain that a little bit deeper? Because you see people being like, we're like jealous of someone. And we think that this is a bad thing, but from my understanding, it's that we actually, it's parts of us that we admire or that we're suppressing.
But can you explain that a little bit more to us? 'cause that's very interesting.
Gisele: So we tend to feel jealousy towards people who have something that we want.
And so instead of turning around and facing and looking at that and going like, okay, I [00:17:00] want that. What is blocking me from having it? Or What work do I have to put in to have that right? We tend to just project jealousy. I personally love being jealous because then I'm like, okay, there's an up level for me here.
There's like. Something new I can step into. And so that's a part of it. But there's also this piece, like, you know when you hear of people where they're like, I love to sing, but I only sing when no one is around. Or, I love to write, but I would never let anyone see my writing. Those are usually parts of the golden shadow and aspects or gifts or talents, or even just like passions.
You don't always have to be good at everything in order for it
to be part of your authentic code, the more you can. Lean into and accept and express those parts of self, the more you'll be in your like true, authentic power and potential.
Brittany: A hundred percent. I just like, I totally, when you said that, like when I'm jealous, it's like, because you're like excited and that was the same as me. It's like
I feel like the things that I [00:18:00] wanted, I didn't always feel safe to have. I felt scared. I felt like shame. So from childhood there was wounds of like, you know, sharing these true desires and other kids making fun of you, like that's not possible for you.
Like you're not gonna be famous or like there was always shame. So it's like you want these things, but. When you were being really authentic and genuine people. Like dimmed you and shamed you. So now there's this fear and that was like me too. I remember like looking at influencers and like really wanting that, but I had to dig in deep and there was this fear of being seen.
I just felt like people were always gonna attack me. I felt like I, if I shined too bright. That, you know, people would come for me and that fear of being seen was really something I had to work through. And like when I did, all of a sudden my Instagram just, went crazy. So I do a hundred percent believe that if we can switch that mindset, like jealousy's a bad thing, it's [00:19:00] ooh, get excited about it.
This is juicy. This is good.
Gisele: and it is that thing of like, things really take off when you step into your energetic truth. So a lot of times people are trying to push and hustle and make things happen. Yeah, if there's parts of you that you're not accepting and you haven't worked through, like the fear of being seen or whatever, it literally is always going to cap your success in any arena.
At a certain place. And so doing the internal and energetic work is key.
Brittany: Yeah,
a hundred percent. I love this, that it's like healing. You can use like your sign as like right. Healing and inspiring, but then also like looking at like, I feel like if you're up against a wall, like you are not getting where you wanna go, there's something preventing you from that. You know, like I think there's always a root because your body, for whatever reason, thinks that that thing is this protective mechanisms keeping you [00:20:00] safe, but in reality it's actually just holding you back from what you want.
So.
Gisele: Yeah, exactly.
Brittany: I love that. Okay.
I have to dive in 'cause you have so many amazing offerings
and I like, literally I scroll your page all the time and I'm like, oh my God, I wanna know more about this. And I just love your wording excites me like. Rich bitch energy is one of your offerings that you have. And I know that this kind of talks about the planet Venus.
Tell me, correct me if I'm wrong, but like worth and magnetic femininity. So what does that mean energetically?
Gisele: like Rich bitch energy. So I always joke, I think I like, I just changed our Instagram bio to say this. I always joke that I wanna take like lover girls and turn them into rich bitches because we have this we have this mentality that if you're a lover girl, if you're a creative, if you're an intuitive, if you're sensitive, if you're kind, if you're compassionate, that you can't make money, right?
That's where like the starving artist trope comes [00:21:00] from, or like the trophy wife or whatever,
and. can, it's just we have to do it in our way. We have to do it from that place of alignment or for lack of a better word, alignment. We have to do it from that place of like self-worth and integrity and embodiment instead of the more masculine way, which does work for more masculine martian type of people. We need to figure out what our rich bitch life looks like and work on building that in a way that is. Sustainable and cyclical, especially for women because when we try to run a business or build a business from a really linear place, and we try to do the same thing every single day, even though we have, you know, different hormonal cycles that we have to attune to, it makes things really fucking hard and really difficult, and it makes women often feel like they're not.
Able to like break that ceiling or make a certain amount of money or like the rich bitch energy is not even just about money. [00:22:00] It's about what is the life that you wanna live? What feels really rich and meaningful and luxurious to you? And
how do we build that into your life and into your day? And so the rich Bitch energy bundle is like all of our most. Like favorite and loved courses for entrepreneurs and creatives put into one place. So it covers everything. Like we go over everything in that bundle.
Brittany: I found this myself is like, I feel like the generation before us, it was that doer, like I feel like a lot of us were conditioned from our parents just, and not like by any bad reason, but that's just how they were conditioned and taught that like. You do and that equals success. So I feel like so many of us are in this masculine energy of doing, forcing just hitting like a nonstop, but in return it's actually exhausting.
I think, you correct me if wrong, but I think there's only a certain level you can get to when you're doing that Forcing. Yeah. But then when I think when you take it back and. Actually come into that femininity and like what you said, like we [00:23:00] don't associate being feminine with money. We associate like, oh, trophy wife, oh, starving artists.
We associate it with these negative things, but like there's so much power in being feminine. So how can we embrace that? Or like how can we be more feminine and allow that abundance to come, and why does the abundance come when we're more feminine?
Gisele: Yeah. Okay. I love this. I feel like this is so multilayered. I feel like there's a few pieces you have to know yourself. So
there's people who love, they love the grit, they love the, like, I see a mountain and I'm gonna climb it and I want this to be hard. You know those people in your life where if they don't have a task, they're like walking around like a little like lost dog.
Like they're like, give me something to do. So you have to know, like if that's who you are, then you are probably gonna wanna build. A business that requires you to really like cut your teeth a little bit,
and that's correct for you.
But there's this whole other group of people [00:24:00] who, we don't thrive in that way.
We don't thrive from having a ton of tasks, a long to-do list being super productive at the end of a really busy workday. We're not like, wow, I feel so vital. We're like, I need to go have four glasses of wine and have a bath and nobody talk to me
Brittany: Check out.
Gisele: Yes, we need to check out, and it's a lot of this is biology, right?
So a lot of this comes down to female versus male biology. Although I do think there's some it's not always like a perfect science, but women, we operate off of oxytocin. That's our primary hormone. It's our, primary regulator and dopamine depletes oxytocin. So when we're building a business or we're trying to achieve something, it literally depletes our vitality.
Brittany: Wow, that makes so much sense. One statement was like,
Gisele: yes.
Brittany: interrupt, but like what? Oh my
Gisele: So when. The reason that feminine energy, I think is really important [00:25:00] for us is because it allows us to literally keep our energy. It allows us to be vital. It allows us to have stamina. It allows us to keep going. It allows us to not burn out essentially. There's also a piece too where like we just thrive when we have a lot of collaboration and connection in our lives.
So. A lot of the work of, of coming back into the feminine. I wish we had a better word for it because I feel like the feminine energy stuff has been like co-opted and taken in a weird direction. But when we become more feminine, the, A huge part of that work is learning how to ask for help and learning how to receive and learning how to build win-win situations.
It's that Aphrodite Ian energy, which is why I. Teach a lot about the Aphrodite archetype, and I focus a lot on the astrology of Venus because I think that is a missing piece for a lot of women. We've been trying so hard to be in our masculine and to do [00:26:00] things the way that men do it, and it's not that we can't do it, but like why?
Why should we do,
we have other superpowers that we can use and that we can lean on, and they allow us to build business or build lives that we love without sacrificing our vitality and sacrificing our energy and sacrificing our joy.
